After enough seasons working the upscale Twin Cities corridors, the Squad has noticed clear design preferences in different neighborhoods. Here is what we install where.
Edina
Edina homes lean classic warm white. Tight, even spacing along the roofline. Wrapped trunk lighting on mature maples and oaks. Restrained landscape accents on the front yard. The 50th & France district extends this look to retail with consistent warm white storefront packages.
The Edina aesthetic is understated curb appeal. Less is more. The display should look intentional, never flashy.
Wayzata
Wayzata lakefront properties tend to push bigger. Larger homes, more roofline to light, often with detached boathouses and waterfront landscape features. Permanent LED systems are especially popular here because the lake gives a wider viewing angle and homeowners want flexibility through every season, not just December.
Vikings purple on game day is more common in Wayzata than anywhere else we work.
Minnetonka
Minnetonka mixes tasteful traditional displays with the occasional bold custom design. We see a lot of mixed-color roofline work here - warm white primary, with color accents on landscape features. Permanent systems are growing quickly in Minnetonka neighborhoods near Lake Minnetonka and Gray Bay.
North Oaks
The North Oaks aesthetic is reserved and coordinated. HOA-driven design standards keep the community uniform, which lets the lighting really pop. We do a lot of estate-scale roofline work here, plus the community common area packages.
Plymouth and Maple Grove
Newer construction, larger lots, and a younger demographic. Permanent LED systems are most popular here because homeowners are setting up homes they plan to live in for decades. The app-controlled flexibility lets them adapt the home through every life stage.
Woodbury
Woodbury East Side properties tend to want layered displays - roofline plus landscape plus accent. Larger families, more events at the house, more demand for festive looks beyond just December.
Stillwater
Historic. Architectural. The Squad works carefully on older homes and downtown storefronts here. The riverfront downtown district is one of the more visually distinctive lighting environments in the Twin Cities.
