The Twin Cities upscale belt - Edina, Minnetonka, Wayzata, North Oaks, Woodbury, Stillwater - has long winters and a strong appetite for year-round curb appeal. Many of our residential clients move into permanent LED systems within a season or two because the brutal weather makes a one-and-done install obvious value. On the commercial side, retail corridors like 50th & France, Galleria Edina, and Grand Avenue in St. Paul use lighting to extend evening foot traffic through the darkest months of the year.
Twin Cities winters run from late October through April. Subzero stretches in January and February are routine, and -20F mornings are not unusual. Snow load on rooflines, ice dams along eaves, and frozen gutters make DIY installs both dangerous and unreliable. The Squad installs in the warmer window of mid-October through early December using commercial-grade clips and channel systems rated for Minnesota cold. Takedown runs March through early April once the worst of the snow lifts.

Coordinated holiday lighting program across nine storefronts and three streetside parking lots in the 50th & France district. Warm white roofline runs, wrapped trunk lighting on the boulevard maples, and synchronized blue accent at the district entrance. Installed in two overnight sessions to keep retail hours uninterrupted.
Eden Prairie, MN
Eden Prairie Office Park - Five Building Campus
Annual holiday lighting contract for a Class A office park with five separate buildings off Flying Cloud Drive. Custom property-manager brand color scheme. Rooflines, main entrance arches, and landscape feature trees. Install crew worked exclusively after 6pm to avoid tenant disruption.
Stillwater, MN
Stillwater Historic Storefront Package
Eleven storefronts along the historic downtown Stillwater riverfront. Each facade quoted and installed individually to respect the architectural detail of buildings dating to the late 1800s. No fastener damage to original brickwork or trim. Display has become a regional draw on December weekends.
North Oaks, MN
North Oaks HOA Community Lighting
Multi-year lighting contract for a private gated community covering the main entrance gatehouse, clubhouse, community pool building, and the perimeter pines along the main drive. Single point of contact through the HOA board for billing and design changes.
Maple Grove, MN
Maple Grove Restaurant Patio Permanent Install
Permanent LED string and channel system over a heated outdoor restaurant patio. Switchable between warm white evening dining mode and full color holiday mode from the manager workstation. Extended the patios usable evening hours through the winter season.

Commercial Lighting in Minneapolis — Straight Answers
- Retail corridors (50th & France, Galleria Edina, Grand Avenue in St. Paul, Mainstreet Hopkins), Class A office parks along I-494 and Flying Cloud Drive, hotels and hospitality, HOA-governed communities like North Oaks, hospital and healthcare campuses, and the historic downtown Stillwater storefronts. If it's a commercial roof or facade inside the 494/694 loop, we've probably lit one like it.
- Property managers with multiple sites: August at the latest. Single-property commercial: September through mid-October is the safe window. After the first hard freeze the risk goes up and quality-control on install goes down — so we stop taking new work by the third week of November. The install crews are done climbing roofs by early December, period.
- A Squad estimator walks the property with the property manager or owner. We measure the runs, spec commercial-grade LED product (channel systems, C9 strand, wraps, tree lights, whatever the design calls for), photograph anchor points, and put together an itemized bid you can hand to your board or ownership. Bids include the install date locked in writing. No "we'll fit you in when we can" pricing.
- Full commercial general liability, Minnesota workers compensation, and auto for every crew truck. Certificates of insurance go to your property manager, HOA board, or GC before the first install date. We work regularly with the property-management companies that require additional-insured endorsements.
- We fix it. In-season service calls through the full display period are included, not billed extra. The reason permanent-grade LED and commercial-grade strand cost more upfront is because they're rated for -20F operation — and because when they still occasionally fail in an ice storm, a Minnesota-local crew shows up to swap the run instead of scheduling it two weeks out.
- Yes. Full-service commercial contracts include takedown in March or early April once the snow lifts off the roofline, plus climate-controlled storage of your specific product between seasons. Nothing gets mixed with another property's system. Same fixtures come back out next fall.
